Serving at the Foodbank has become one of our signature projects. At least twice a year, members gather and lend a helping hand. This week, we helped to sort and pack pounds of donated food from the Kellogg Company. By getting this done, the Foodbank is able to get the food distributed even more quickly! Our totals were boxing 1890 boxes of cereal. That will provide 7500 servings. We also packed 630 pounds of snacks!!!!
Two Interactors joined members of the Rotary Club of Battle Creek for lunch today. Lilly Robinson and Lauren McIntyre are pictured with Rotarian, Karla Fales. Recently, the Interact Club worked with members of their school to raise funds and awareness about Polio and Rotary International project, PolioPlus. Today, they contributed more than $100 for the effort. These funds will be added to those raised at the District 6360 Annual Conference which will be held on May 12 and 13.
On Monday, December 5, the Cereal City Sunrise and Battle Creek Rotarians joined forces with their respective Interact Clubs from Galesburg and St. Philip to host the Annual Christmas Party. 125 area youth were treated to lunch, magic by Ronald McDonald, Christmas carols and a visit from Santa. When they arrived back to their classrooms, the students discovered that Santa’s elves had delivered packages full of crafts, puzzles, mittens, and books for each of them. It was a great day for Rotarians and Interactors!
